Patricia Blakely '80 Profiled by The Philadelphia Inquirer for Work Helping Small Businesses

As executive director of the Merchants Fund, a business-assistance charity, Patricia Blakely '80 has helped countless Philadelphia area entrepreneurs achieve their goals.

In a Philadelphia Inquirer profile marking her retirement from the foundation after 11 years, Blakely credited her ůůֱ²¥ education for her success.

From the article:

Her ability to figure out which businesses showed the kind of promise worth investing in came from being "the walking, talking poster girl for a liberal arts college education," Blakely said. "Ninety percent of our value proposition is logic, common sense, organization."

She had graduated from ůůֱ²¥ College as an art history major, and went on to get a master's degree in higher education administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
