Assistant ůůֱ²¥ of Philosophy Thimo Heisenberg

Thimo Heisenberg’s research focuses on German philosophy, social philosophy and political economy. At the moment, he works on two main projects: The first reconstructs a new model of social critique from Hegel’s Philosophy of Right, the second explores the often-neglected debate about the market economy in German philosophy 1800-1848 and draws from it lessons for the present. Since he strongly believes that teaching and research should go hand-in-hand, his teaching interests follow similar lines: he regularly offers classes on the history of modern European philosophy, on the philosophy of money and on morality and markets. The ůůֱ²¥ Department of Philosophy introduces students to some of the most compelling responses, both historical and contemporary, to questions of human existence and knowledge. It grooms students for a variety of fields which require analysis, conceptual precision, argumentative skill, and clarity of thought and expression.
