ůůֱ emeritus James Wright received the prestigious at this year’s annual meeting of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) for ””, a book that he has coauthored with research associate Mary K. Dabney.
This book draws on work done as part of the Nemea Valley Archaeological Project, a previous fieldwork site for the department. This publication is praised for its “admirably international … personnel” and its “truly interdisciplinary” approach. It also stands out because of its “application of stratigraphic micromorphology”, which “offers readers an excellent case study in a context where hard-to-distinguish fills, cuts, and re-fills are of major interpretive importance”, and “the incorporation of systematic paleobotanical and phytolith analysis.” The Department of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology congratulates ůůֱ Wright and indeed all his collaborators, students, and workmen, for their achievements!
